My Experience

Driven by a commitment to high stakes strategy and meaningful public impact, my portfolio spans the public and private sectors. Throughout my career, I have delivered communications that demonstrate clear and measurable socioeconomic value.

My work shows how evidence based communications can support regional investment, contribute to job creation, strengthen local communities and deliver lasting commercial and civic value.

I specialise in translating complex data, policy and operational information into clear and accessible narratives that protect organisational reputation, influence policy and build trust across highly regulated and politically sensitive environments.

Driving Glasgow's Climate Leadership: COP26 & the Glasgow Climate Pact

As Sustainability PR Lead for Glasgow City Council, I led strategic communications for the city’s sustainability agenda and its role as host of COP26, helping position Glasgow at the centre of international climate discussions.

Working across government, academia, business and community organisations, I developed and delivered communications campaigns that promoted Glasgow’s climate leadership, net zero ambitions and environmental initiatives to local, national and international audiences.

I played a central role in communicating the significance of the Glasgow Climate Pact, translating complex international commitments on climate action, emissions reduction and global cooperation into clear and accessible messages for policymakers, journalists, stakeholders and the wider public.

The communications strategy secured coverage across major international media outlets, including CNN, the BBC, Reuters, the Financial Times and The New York Times. This strengthened Glasgow’s global profile and reinforced its reputation as a leading centre for climate action, sustainable development and environmental innovation.

Implementing Scotland's Human Trafficking & Exploitation Strategy

I led the development and implementation of Scotland’s Human Trafficking and Exploitation Strategy, overseeing communications, stakeholder engagement and partnership working across government, law enforcement, local authorities and third sector organisations.

The strategy established a coordinated national framework for tackling human trafficking, modern slavery and exploitation across Scotland. It brought together a wide range of national partners and frontline organisations around shared priorities, including prevention, victim support and recovery, and the disruption of criminal activity.

Working within a highly sensitive and complex policy environment, I translated legislative and policy objectives into clear, accessible communications that strengthened awareness, supported engagement and enabled effective collaboration across multiple sectors.

I worked closely with national partners and frontline organisations to build understanding of the strategy’s objectives and support its implementation throughout Scotland. This required balancing the perspectives of diverse stakeholders while maintaining a collaborative and victim centred approach.

I was commended for leading the creation of what was recognised as one of the most comprehensive human trafficking strategies in the world, receiving recognition from both the United Nations and the European Parliament.

Translating Research Into Public Understanding During COVID-19

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I contributed to communications activity supporting the University of Glasgow’s research response, translating complex scientific and public health information into clear and accessible content for diverse audiences.

The University was widely recognised for its contribution to Scotland’s, the UK’s and the global response to the pandemic. It played a pivotal role in vaccine trials, genomic sequencing, epidemiological research and wider public health initiatives. This work attracted significant public, political and media attention at both national and international levels.

My work focused on communicating highly technical research to policymakers, journalists and the wider public, helping ensure that critical scientific findings could be understood and shared during a rapidly evolving global crisis.

Alongside this work, I supported engagement and fundraising initiatives for displaced and vulnerable students, including those from Ukraine, the Middle East and other conflict affected regions. Working with alumni, donors and university partners, I helped promote programmes that expanded access to education for students facing significant barriers to higher education.

Digital Transformation &

Socio-Economic Comms

Commercial Sensitivity Notice: Due to non-disclosure agreements and the politically sensitive nature of this high-profile project, specific institutional names and regional identifiers have been removed.

I directed the strategic redevelopment of a major corporate digital platform, modernising multichannel communications, strengthening stakeholder engagement and safeguarding the organisation’s reputation across UK and international markets.

Alongside this digital transformation, I developed the narrative architecture and impact frameworks used to communicate the organisation’s macroeconomic and social contribution. This involved synthesising complex operational data into clear, evidence-based narratives that demonstrated measurable value through regional employment, capital investment, community development and sustainable growth.

I produced executive briefing materials, statutory consultation responses and public affairs resources for policymakers, regulators and senior decision makers. This ensured that complex and politically sensitive socioeconomic issues were communicated with clarity, supported by robust evidence and aligned with the organisation’s wider strategic objectives.

By integrating digital transformation, procurement governance and reputation management, the project strengthened the organisation’s public profile, supported the management of regulatory scrutiny and established a clear, credible account of its long-term commercial and civic value.
